At an alarming rate of almost 1 in 4 women, 1 in 6 men, and 1 in 2 transgender individuals experiencing sexual violence, it is critical to know how to respond to students when they disclose these experiences. And with recent increased news coverage, many college students are feeling more comfortable to ask for help from faculty and staff. In this webinar, participants will learn best practices in responding to students after they have disclosed experiences of sexual violence. Facilitators will discuss the impact of trauma and specific ways to support students through this. They will also explain vicarious trauma and discuss ways to practice self care and its’ importance.
